Job title: Senior Electrical/Instrumentation Technician
Position Ref.: ELTEC-01
Location: Onshore Oil Field (Site Based), Libya
Contractual period: One year employment - renewable.
Work Cycle: 42 working days on - 21 days off.
Working Hours: 7 days a week - 8 hours a day

Required qualifications and skills:

• Performing detailed tests on circuit boards.
• Visually inspecting parts against a failure catalogue.
• Conducting basic fault finding on circuit boards and other components.
• Performing detailed tests on electromechanical products
• Repairing boards and completing systems down to individual component levels.
• Completing relevant paperwork and recording data where necessary.
• Ensuring that work area is clean and tidy at all times to ensure a hazard-free environment is maintained.
• Accountable for the safe operation of the site electrical system and the correct creation and issuing of electrical safety documents.
• Ensuring that all safety-critical and business-critical systems are inspected, maintained and calibrated to the relevant legislative and standards.
• The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge in areas such as automated valve control, LV and HV motors and associated control equipment (including variable speed drives).
• A minimum of a basic understanding of instrumentation and control systems.
• PLC system knowledge would be advantageous
• A working understanding of DCS systems and hardware
• Management of discipline-related contractors.
• ONC / HNC Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Process Control or equivalent
• First Aid qualification desirable
• Holding an Electrical - Instrumentation / Process Control Qualification i.e. HNC/HND would but ideal.
• Previous experience working in an Assembly/Manufacturing/Production environment is essential.
• The excellent ability to follow plans with manual dexterity.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to be a good team player.
