Role Summary
This position is under the Projects Department, Reports to Projects Manager and is responsible for:
- Overall PROJECT Management in Planning, coordination and supervision
- Defining Project plan, strategies and scope for engineering design
- Prepares projects performance, area of concerns and recommendations for recovery or to improve performance
- Coordinating and liaising with other respective Departments to ensure projects delivery as planned
- Liaising with clients for all project related matters, reports and correspondences
- Supervises project engineers
- Preparation of Project budget Control and financial reports
Non Job Specific Activities
1- QHSE
- Comply with QHSE Policies and ensure subordinates compliance in terms of behaviour and training
- Promote Taknia QHSE Management approach in all aspects of the work and encourage commitment to continuous improvement from the participants
- Attend QHSE meetings and attend QHSE audits when requested
- Develops and implement onshore/offshore work in accordance with QHSE requirement
- Ensures the staff is informed about any changes affecting the company QHSE Requirements, in particular Company Offices, Projects or activities that the company is developing on the behalf of others
2- PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Establish and follow up on staffing plans, training plans and recruiting needs in coordination with the HR Department
- Follow up the development of competencies of its staff through the annual individual appraisal performance process and set objectives for each member of its staff at the beginning of the year
- Follow up the work of its direct subordinates/staff and provide advice
- Manage project (s) through planning, execution, monitoring, analysing and performance reporting to company management and client
- Liaises and coordinates with Client working as focal point on all project related matters, meetings, reporting and correspondences
- Establishes project execution plan, communication plan & strategies in conjunction with the Client
- Works closely with projects control, engineering, procurement, QHSE and operation/construction dept. to ensure project delivery in time, cost and quality
- Ensures that the project performs with effective monitoring of progress measurement, forecast, completion, deviations and changes to the baseline plan
- Establishes reporting content and format for monthly, weekly and adhoc project status reports
- Organizes and controls projects performance review meetings within company, and with client on regular basis as per contract or as required by client
- Provides projects performance reports and analysis to the management, with recommendations for recovery or mitigation of issues & concerns if any
- Develop/review Project standards & procedures to improve efficiency and profitability
- Coordinates risk management protocols and procedures required for risk assessment in order to assess risk occurrence as it pertains to probability, cost/budget and schedule
- Coordinates management of Change & Variation Control in respect of contract provisions
- Co-ordination and communication of best practices and system / tools to the team
- Close liaison with engineering, project controls, QHSE, and procurement departments

- Academic Achievements / Certifications
- Degree in Engineering from a recognized university as a minimum qualification
- Proficient in English language, both writing and verbal
- 20+ years’ experience in project management in oil/gas, energy sector
- Experience in risk assessment, developing advanced level analysis, understanding of earned value management, experience with value engineering as well as trending, claims, forecasting and contractor negotiations
- Experience in all aspects of oil and gas engineering design projects - studies & conceptual design, FEED, detailed design, including project management, project engineering, project controls, procurement, contracts and sub-contracts, proposal preparation, and construction support
- Knowledge of engineering, design, procurement and construction functions in EPC environment
- Knowledge in management of engineering design projects of greenfield and brownfield, and onshore and offshore
- A strong team player, with coaching, mentoring, and presentation capabilities
- Practical problem solving ability with proactive approach
- Effective leadership, communication and inter-personnel skills
- Supports and manages change efforts, innovative approaches in problem solving, plans direction for work group to tie in with organizational goals, takes responsibility for outcomes, models desired behaviour
